Good evening, everyone –
I am writing with an update for you. Tomorrow, student learning materials and Chromebooks/IPad Minis will be delivered to the homes of students living in Monson. Here’s the scoop:
Quarry Hill – Buses will be loaded at approximately 10:30 a.m. and should complete the run by 12:30.
Granite Valley – Buses will be loaded at approximately 2:30 p.m. and run until everything is delivered.
Monson High – Buses will be loaded at approximately 7:30 a.m. and should complete the run by 10:00 a.m.
Please note: We will only leave items if someone is home to receive them. Also, some homes are not accessible by our buses; therefore, you may wait at your usual bus stop. Check out the Transportation tab of the website for an idea of how long your route may take.
If you prefer to pick up your child's materials instead, please come to the schools on Friday, September 11 at the following times:
Quarry Hill – between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Granite Valley – between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Monson High – between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for Chromebooks
We are working on a schedule for delivery to our Granite Valley and Monson High school choice students and will provide an update tomorrow. Quarry Hill school choice students – you may pick up your materials on Friday, September 11 at Quarry Hill between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
The MPS website has been updated with the following tutorial videos to assist GV families with supporting their student's Chromebook use:
For those students who already have their Chromebook at home, please take a moment this afternoon or this evening to charge and power on your child's Chromebook to ensure everything is working properly. You may also run the following update for optimal performance:
Click on the clock in the bottom right corner
Click the gear icon for settings
Click “about Chrome OS” (bottom left)
Click “check for updates” if it does not start automatically
Click “restart” when update finishes installing. The restart prompt will automatically show.
For any Chromebooks that need maintenance, please visit www.monsonschools.com/fall2020 and sign up for a 15-minute appointment Friday, September 11. Should you not be able to make one of the designated time slots, please call 267-4150 to reach the technology department for an alternate time.
